What is the Delaware Building Trades Council?

The DBTC is a professional organization which advocates for the use of local, skilled tradesmen with developers, builders, contractors and Delaware’s business community.  The DBTC accomplishes these goals through effective lobbying and legislative efforts and strategic partnerships with private enterprise.  All of these efforts create good paying jobs for our members and communities and stimulate the economy in Delaware.  The DBTC represents 22 affiliated local unions.

Do I save any money utilizing union tradesmen?

Yes! The utilization of DBTC workforce benefits your projects in a myriad of ways—reduce worker compensation costs, higher levels of productivity and projects completed on time and under-budget at a higher rate than our less skilled competitors.

How does skilled labor benefit my project?

Skilled labor benefits my project by saving me money.  In addition, by using DBTC workers you are creating a safer, more efficient work environment.  All of this adds up to a project completed on your timeline!

Can the union help me with regulatory or government issues?

Yes! The DBTC employs a full-time Executive Director and uses the power of our 22 affiliates, Business Managers and their respective government relations teams to fight for you.  We educate elected officials at all levels of government about economic development, jobs and issues that effect the construction industry.
